Any Class That Graduated from a Columbus School

Plan your reunion around the 150th Birthday celebration for the City of COlumbus. The Sesquicentennial Committee wants to invite all alumni as well as anyone who ever lived in Columbus to come to the All-School Birthday Bash on Friday, June 30, 2006, at Ag Park.

The show will feature the following bands: Echoes, Soul Incorperated, Freedom Road, and Thudwinker. Echoes and Freedom Road are memebers of the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The cost is just $5 and the concert will start at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.

There are also many other activities going on that weekend because of the Columbus Days Celebration has been moved to June 27 to July 3. On July 1st and 2nd, you won't want to miss the Columbus Barbeque Classic barbeque competition. Over the course of the weekend, there will be a talent show, Mr. Beefcake contest, street dance, and lots more hometown fun. The Columbus Days parade on July 2nd at 4 p.m. will be the biggest ever.

July 3 will feature fireman water fights, a kiddie rodeo, a cow milking contest, mini monster trucks and the largest fireworks display in Columbus history.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding something to do, and what a great way to catch up with your friends. Remember to save the June 30 date for the All-School Birthday Bash and come home to Columbus for the biggest birthday party in our history!!

Alumni In Columbus Days Parade

I would like to invite all alumni band and flag corps members to join the Scotus Senior High Band for the Columbus Days Parade set for Sunday, July 2 at 4:00 p.m.

Regular practice will run the week of June 26th from 7:30am-9:00am. Alumni are welcome to join any of the regular practices. Weekend practice will be: Saturday, July 1 at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. Alumni attendance is encouraged for both of these rehearsals.

Attire: We will have special t-shirts made for this parade. We will also ask everyone to wear khaki shorts and comfortable tennis shoes.

Class of 1967 – Reunion in 2007

Plans are being made for the 40^th class reunion to be held in 2007. More information including the reunion date will be in the next issue of the Alumni News. We also invite the class to an informal gathering at the Columbus Days All-City Schools Reunion on Friday, June 30 2006 to be held at the Ag Park in Columbus. Several bands from our era will play that night and we hope that many from the Class of "67" will be there to celebrate this fun event.
