Memorials
Memorials sent to Scotus for both living and deceased individuals are recognized in the Book of Memory located at the entrance of the Scotus Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Once each year a Mass is said for all those listed in the Book of Memory, usually on the feast of Blessed John Duns Scotus (November 8).
Your memorial gift may be directed for a specific use at Scotus (such as for the biology department, campus ministry, volleyball program, endowment, etc.) or it can be given without restriction so that the school can decide where it might be needed the most. On occasion a large memorial gift is made to the school to establish an endowed scholarship in memory of a living or deceased family member. Endowed scholarships normally require a minimum donation of $5,000—the principal of which is never invaded and only the annual earnings are awarded in scholarship form using the scholarship guidelines provided by the donor. For more information, contact the Scotus development office.
