Become a Part of the Scotus Legacy Capital Campaign!

It is never too late to become a part of this important campaign for Scotus’ future! If you have not made a pledge or contribution to the Legacy Capital Campaign, please consider doing so today and help Scotus complete this important investment in our facilities!

In the fall of 2007 the Legacy Capital Campaign was conducted with four primary goals:
1) provide $800,000 for the annual fund needs for fiscal years 2008-09, 09-10 and 10-11 (normally supported by the SEF drive),
2) $200,000 for the remodeling of 50-year-old locker rooms,
3) $300,000 to pay off the debt on new boilers installed in the fall of 2006 and
4) $500,000 toward the expected $1.2 million dollar cost of installing air conditioning in the classrooms and addition of new air exchange units for heating and air conditioning.

We are truly grateful for the nearly 1,000 individuals and companies who have supported the Legacy Campaign to date!

Legacy Capital Campaign Original Goal: $1.8 million dollars.

Current Legacy Campaign Pledges: $2.054 million dollars (as of 6/10/08) (3-year pledges 2008-2010)

Campaign expenses totaled $10,298.31 with the largest single expenses being: printing ($4,853.34), postage ($2,061.22) and donor recognition signs for the Dowd Activity Center ($2,955).

The accepted bid for the fourth campaign goal (HVAC work) was $1,418,000 – a little more than $200,000 higher than expected; and the contractors ran into additional costs as the installation work commenced. Both bills for installing air conditioning and for the locker room remodel will come due in late August of 2008—well before the campaign’s three-year pledge period has concluded. Consequently, to help pay for project expenses and to help finance the amount of goal #4 not pledged for in the campaign, Scotus has secured a $1.2 million dollar loan financed through four Columbus banks.
